The Most Robust Bypass Valve Upgrade for Your 2016+ Civic & Integra 1.5T Is Here!

For as long as the Civic has been out with the 1.5 L15 Turbo motor (since about 2016), the community has been clamoring for an upgraded Bypass Valve.

Many companies before have tried and failed to deliver on a solution that gave solid boost control, stable OE like fuel trims and better reliability i.e. a complete package.  Why? Boost control isn’t easy. This is the first blog we wrote for this part. Get it wrong and you’ll overshoot your targets or throw off your fuel trims by diverting air that’s been metered by the MAF out to the atmosphere for example. This is a common weak point for other valves that are “blow-off”style. Cool sound, less than ideal performance in some cases.

27WON Billet Bypass Valve

Our new upgraded billet bypass valve is different.

We landed a fully recirculating design, just like the OEM valve meaning metered air gets recirculated and passed back into the system when the valve opens. The ECU expects this air to return and so fuel trims remain unaffected.

But, let’s also talk about the reliability aspect a bit.

Unlike the OEM valve that has an interior rubber diaphragm, our valve uses a piston and a spring. Why? No chance for the rubber to rip apart after many open/close cycles. This is especially important for those pushing more power than stock which puts added stress on the rubber diaphragm.

OEM BPV vs 27WON BPV

Let’s round out this section with an actual look at a boost plot, specifically a common scenario like a 4th gear full pull. Here, we compare spool and relief characteristics of the OEM factory Honda valve to the 27WON Valve on our 1.5T equipped Integra. Commonly, these values are called TC. Target and TC. Pressure in Ktuner or the target pressure of your Civics turbo and the actual pressure being generated.

There is always a small lag between when you put your foot down to actual boost pressure building which is totally normal. What we want to focus on here is the rate of boost building at the left part of the graph. It’s nearly identical between the two valves. Even more important is the right part of the graph or the taper - that is what happens when you shift or let off the throttle. As you can see, once you lift the “Target” pressure falls quickly on both valves from near identical peak boost pressure (~25 psi). The actual Pressure follows with a more gradual fall as the either bypass valve starts opening and venting pressure back into the system. Our aim was to match or exceed the OEM Bypass Valve vent characteristics and we accomplished just that. A nice smooth taper from peak boost that follows the path of the OE valve signifying the 27WON valve behaves just like the factory piece.

Those points alone should be enough to consider an upgraded bypass valve.

But let’s also talk a bit about our final design. Form and function is the goal. We checked off the function box making sure it performs flawlessly. But did we check off the form? Well, just take a look at this thing!

We started with an aluminum base and we chose to finish this in a stealth black color. We then added a two-piece top portion in contrasting cherry red to give this valve some aesthetic appeal. Combined, this combo really stands out and pops in your engine bay! Dig that logo on top as well.

27WON BPV Side Profile

As always, our Bypass Valve is a complete kit meaning you get all the hardware for an easy install the first time without any trips to the hardware store. Oh, you’ll get color step by step install instructions through our Dozuki app each and every time. We got your back.

So, what are you waiting for! These valves are now available for your 10th and 11th Gen 1.5T Civic as well as the latest Acura Integra A-Spec at the link below!
